Shakespeare 2.0

“To be or not to be”, “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” – those are only two of countless famous Shakespearean quotes. The students of the elective subject FCE 2 dealt with William Shakespeare, his time and some of his most well-known works. To transform parts of his timeless plays into modern day English by using contemporary means of communication, the students were asked to choose scenes of certain plays and translate them into a WhatsApp text message or replace an entire scene with emojis. The photos show the most successful text transformations, originating from “Othello” and “Romeo and Juliet”.
