English cooking lesson

As a final activity of our chapter on the topic “Fitness and Health“, we, the English group of 5bc, were having a special lesson in English on Thursday, May 19th, 2022. To be more exact, it was about cooking a vegetarian noodle salad. When our teacher came into class, she handed out a few instructions and declared some rules, including to only speak English since it was an English lesson. We all put the ingredients we brought to class on allotted desks and two teams were created. Right afterwards we started cooking. The students split their groups apart in smaller ones and assigned parts. The preparing of food was a process that was fun to look at and participate in. Some time passed and the groups mixed all ingredients (vegetables and cheese) together with the noodles that were provided by our teacher. When the process was done, we handed out plates and forks and started eating the salad. It was delicious. Both salads tasted exceptionally good. After the meal, the class continued with cleaning up the “kitchen“. It was sad that it already had to end, since it was remarkably interesting, and it was actually also about an important skill: The capability to cook is something that is especially important in life and shouldn’t be forgotten about, because a lack of it often makes people end up relying on others to prepare food for them. My conclusion: It was a wonderful experience, which I can recommend further doing.
